EMDR, Dissociation and Parts Work

This workshop is for clinicians looking to expand their knowledge on using EMDR and Parts/Ego States work. Therapists will learn interventions through lecture and videos of recorded sessions to prepare parts for processing targets.

Understanding dissociation is vitally important when working with clients with trauma history. When we as clinicians understand the critical role dissociation played when trauma was experienced and how it impacts our clients currently, we can then treat those clients with much greater success.

Having an understanding allows us to educate our clients as to why they are reacting they way they do in life. Instead of thinking they are just “crazy”, our clients can finally comprehend what is happening and begin to have compassion for themselves.

This workshop will help provide understanding, language and examples to share with your clients. Learning how to explore our client's parts and/or ego states can help them heal and integrate these parts to work together instead of in conflict. Often different parts of self are completely phobic to each other and this can cause many symptoms and difficulties in our clients life. Learning techniques to decrease these phobias can calm the inner system allowing the client to often experience immediate relief and be prepared for EMDR reprocessing.

Learning Objectives:
Upon completion clinicians will increase their confidence and skills as well as be able to apply these techniques with their clients using scripts provided.
