Treating Eating Disorders with EMDR by DaLene Forester

Treating Eating Disorders with EMDR
DaLene Forester, Ph.D., LMFT

Eating Disorders affect an increasing number of individuals and can come to consume an individual’s life and the life of their families. Many clinicians struggle to provide effective treatment for Eating Disorders and Disordered Eating. EMDR can help. Increasing numbers of studies make the connection between adverse life experiences, trauma exposure and Eating Disorders.

Join DaLene Forester, PhD as she examines Eating Disorders and Disordered Eating as coping mechanisms that develop as a result of adverse life experiences. Participants will learn how using EMDR to target both big “T” traumas and little “t” traumas can reduce the negative cognitions that lead to Eating Disordered behavior, allowing the client to regain control of their symptoms and develop healthier ways of coping.
